Your Data Stays on Your Device
Timeline Studio is built so that your project data never leaves your computer. There is no server-side database and no mechanism for your project files to be collected, transmitted, or stored remotely. This is not a policy choice — it is how the application is architected.
How the App Works
When you visit Timeline Studio, your browser downloads static files (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). From that point forward, the app runs entirely on your device. Project files you open are read locally using your browser's built-in File API. Auto-saved session data is stored in your browser's Local Storage, which is private to your device and inaccessible to any server.
Information We Collect
We collect as little information as possible:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily sign up for the beta or a mailing list. We use this solely to communicate product updates and beta access information.
- Payment information — if you purchase a paid subscription, payment is processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your credit card or banking details. Lemon Squeezy may collect information necessary to process your payment in accordance with their own privacy policy.
- License key usage — if you activate a paid license key, we may verify the key's validity through Lemon Squeezy's API. No project data is transmitted during this process.
- Basic analytics — we use privacy-respecting analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns such as page views and referral sources. This does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal information.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Your project files, timeline data, or any content you create in the app
- Keystrokes, mouse movements, or usage patterns within the app
- Browser history, cookies from other sites, or device identifiers
- Location data
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Period.
Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services:
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and license key management. Their privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
- Cloudflare — hosting and privacy-respecting web analytics (no cookies, no personal data).
- Google Fonts — font delivery. Google may log standard web request information (IP address, browser type) when fonts are loaded.
Cookies
Timeline Studio does not set cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies of any kind. Local Storage is used solely to auto-save your work on your own device.
Data Retention
If you provide your email address for the beta or mailing list, we retain it until you unsubscribe or request removal. Payment records are retained by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
Your Rights
You may request to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you (typically just your email address)
- Have your email address removed from our mailing list
- Delete any personal data we hold about you

Children's Privacy
Timeline Studio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
